Bosch Selfcut Speed Wood Drill Bit

Used these a number of times and found these to be the best wood bits available.
Would recommend to get these in a set as will work out cheaper, but if not going to use them regularly purchase the size you need.

Highly recommend these and will not be purchasing any other brand.

The best flat speed bits out there. As people say buy the multi packs it does work out a lot cheaper. Goes through the joists in no time and leaves a clean hole. Highly recommend

Cheap as chips when you buy the multipack of different sizes. Think the go from 8mm to 32mm. A lot better than the flat spade bit, these actually pull through fairly effortlessly as your drilling. Longer lasting than other brands I've used before too

Good drill bits. If you going through joists or studwork these are an excellent choice. I would buy the packs of 8 different bits sizes though personally as buying individual bits is a waste of money in my mind.

I do not like using these when drilling / cutting through plywood or others sheet materials.

The spade on the bit tends to chew up the surfaces if you are not carful, so use a hole saw set for those jobs in my mind.

Screw tip helps get the bit started and then pulls it into materials.

The slightly twisted blades help remove excess material and clear the hole for you.

As a sparky that use all the sizes constantly these really are the go to bit for me.

The only down side to them is they are quite hard to resharpen, the build quality lately has gone down and they seem to blunt alot faster than before

Only speed bits I'll use from now on. Just be careful on doors, can pull in a little quick sometimes but that's it. Haven't had to buy new for ages, obviously if you hit screws etc. You will have t. Well worth the money.

Bosch. You know you are getting good quality when you get bosch. I have lots of drill bits and screwdriver bits from them and im never disappointed. These spade bits are good, sharp and fast, so be careful to go in slow enough to keep control.

Great for drilling,Sharp, durable and Easy to slip in and out of holder but all drill bits stay secure. Plenty of bits with good incremental range around the common hole sizes needed. Must have in any tradesman bag

Rapid cutting and accurate. They last too and dont go blunt after a couple of holes like many on the market. These are always my go to bits.

These are a must have if you want to drill holes through wood, you just pull the trigger and these glide through without having to put any pressure on it

Yes just yes had these around six months now used them loads brilliant bit of kit You have to hardly put any pressure on the drill and the bit just pulls itself in good clean holes cant fault them so far still sharp and preform the same when I first got them highly recommended

Guaranteed to make your life easier. As an electrician I use these a lot to drill out routes through joists and compared to any other flat wood bit these are both faster and more durable! They pull themselves through which makes drilling at awkward angles a breeze.

Got a set of these included with a new purchase, compared to some I already had in my kit they made a huge difference. The centre cuts very easy so you are accurate on the mark point. The treaded tip pulls the cutter into the material letting the drill do the work with little effort. Speed is definitely the advantage here.

These are just brilliant they cut like a hot knife through butter and the little ridges at the top give you a pulling effect to help glide through

These are my go to bits, they fly through joists and seem to cut much nicer than the argor style ones, I guess that why they call them speed bits

Good quality spade bits. Always have a set in my drill box. Power through joists and other heavy duty timbers effortlessly. Wouldn’t be without them.

Amazing wood drills, use these a lot through joists and stay sharp for ages, Iv a couple of sets as I got a set free with a promotion from Bosch.

Really love these. Chew through new and old timber easily. Not quite as good as the Irwin speed bore but it’ll get you through neatly and quickly.

Great for first and second fix leaves a nice clean hole, great for running pipes and cables through joists, pipes through kitchen units and floor boards. Just effortless to use every tradesman should own these and ive been through other brands but these put the cherry on top

Amazing wood drill bits. Used them in a first fix and made it effortless to route cables. One thing to note is you need a drill with a good bit of power behind it. My 18v dewalt struggled sometimes

Good set of bits plus comes with the extension piece which seems to be solid although haven’t had to use it yet. Make nice clean holes in finished wood like drilling holes for kick board light or drilling through the back of cupboards etc. Would of liked a pouch or box to hold them but overall good bits

One of the best spade bits out there, find them more better and quicker to use and they are more durable
If your going to get spade bits get these!! You won’t complain at all

Best spade bits I’ve come across, much quicker and last a lot longer than most that I’ve used, the only issue I’ve come across is they tend to go missing before I get my use out of them

These are awesome but once you hit a screw or nail it’s done but that’s how it is they drill through wood like it’s paper they really sharp and the build quality is very good but obviously you have to be careful of nails and screws

These are grate I had a few sets of these now and have never had a problem, it's like a hot knife going through butter when drilling out joists

Bought 3 sets of these as other makes always go blunt but these have been cutting hole after hole after hole. Once the twist beds in the do tend to drag you through so beware. Buy these you won't be disappointed

Those little spurs are what make the difference, this style of flat but are always the best. Bosch spade bits are the best of the best. Dewalt are good, but not as good.

The Bosch self cut spade bits are hands down one of the best way to drill holes through timber, they help the drill by pulling them selves through. You must make sure you have a powerful enough drill and weak drills will struggle with this spade bit.

These are simply the dogs you know what. I’ve had a set of these for a while now and they have been battered and are still going strong. It is going to take something pretty special to beat these animals.

Long lasting but definitely a wrist breaker. Drills into wood like butter.

The wrist snapper! But such an amazing wood flat bit. Clean cut every time and doesn’t wear down easily. Even if you catch a sneaky nail.

I’ve got the full set of different sizes. Previously used the dewalt extreme flat bit.

Although you can get bits for half the price these ones are well built and durable. As expected they fly through plasterboard , and they are still as effective when drilling through wood. The most robust thing I drill through is door frames and these are never a problem for these bits.

By far the best drill bits I have ever bought they just eat trough anything even if you hit a nail with drilling it just keeps going and still stays sharp unlike cheaper but that seem to just shatter and get dull after a few holes .

Absolutely brilliant wood bits, fly through just about any wood, only thing I’ve found is some times fly through that quick they tear the back of the work price out so be careful guys

Use these all the time for drilling holes in joists during rewires. They are very quick and effective cutting clean accurate holes, makes life a lot easier. Mainly use the 25mm

If not the best drill bit for drilling through wood! I use these on a day to day basis and they last ages, drilling the holes quicker than anything else would also!

absolutely fantastic as long as you avoid nails or anything of the sort. no need to apply much pressure on the drill once the end starts screwing into the wood it just glides through. the best speed bits I've ever used.

These save so much time when drilling holes in wood, they're not even comparable to a standard flat bit. You need a decent battery on your drill though.

Absolute class spade bit. It’s Easily the best spade bit I have ever used. Cuts through timber like a knife through butter. So easy to use.

Great tool, has no problem going through wood, great pulling power for ease. Much much better than the usual flat blade and seems to last longer. Been using these for some time now. Mint tool!

After using bog standard spade drill bits for years, I bought one of these. And then bought a pack of all the useful sizes. Great pulling power when running cable or pipes. Only downside is their length, is space is a premium. Great tool though.

use these all the time,you get more holes out of these cutters,great bits and very good choice of size,and if you find its losing its sharpness there easy to sharpen

These bits are great. They really pull into the wood making it much easier to drill. They can handle hard and soft wood easily. Need to keep a good grip on the drill as they can be a bit aggressive if you’re not paying attention

these are the only flat bits i buy. the chew through joists, not too expensive. they don't like nails but none do. so easy with the self drill.

I bought a set of these a few weeks ago, reasonable price and seem to be very good quality. I am impressed with the speed at which they cut. Added bonus for me was the hex shank so can be used in an impact driver. Would recommend to anyone.

This stays straight even when being operated by a plumber! It cuts quick & clean. I use it in an 18V Makita Drill Driver. and it doesn't stress it at all

By far the best flat bits on the market, they can be a bit vicious and pull, this works for me as I'm just drilling holes in wood as quick as possible but would be a problem for a joiner doing intricate work. The fastest and easiest way to drill a hole in wood

Nice little set of drill bits, goes through joists in seconds, just be careful anywhere near nails ruins them, but best drill bits i have bought for a while, highly recommend.

I Bought some of these to fit new smart latches, much more control than a standard spade bit and a cleaner cut, will definitely buy more. Also a faster cut where required.

I couldn’t see how they could be that different from a basic spade but. Then I tried them. Excellent cutting, they pull through without clogging. The claim they cut through faster, is totally justified. A must have for joists and floor boards. Highly recommend them

Excellent set of bits. Good speed and pull with excellent cutting, kicks out the wood chips well without having to reverse. They last a really long time and continue to have a good pull on them, much prefer them to auger bits. Only had one snap on me and that's because it hit a 6 inch nail.
Never looked back after converting from flat bits.

Best spade bit you can get it cuts like butter through joists only con is the shortest length I could find is 152mm so when your tight on space it won't fit.

These are great at going though joists, like cutting though butter, thus don’t tend to over heat when being used a lot.

I love these. I always suck up when they are on after at screw fix. Cheap enough to not worry about nails. Good enough quality to blaze through even tough old joists.

Nice bits that get through wood lively. Same as all the others tho if you show it a nail or screw it will go in the bin after.

really is a great tool. cuts through joists etc with ease. as with any saw bit can go blunt pretty quick but really good up until that point alot of cheaper alternatives out there

Not a bad spade but. sometimes struggles to get started if there is a knot in the wood. They last a while and when there new there brilliant.

These spade bits are the only ones I will use would love to use the cheaper ones but they don’t last as long and with the screw on these cut a lot faster and easyer.

By far the best flat bits you can buy, effortless drilling, nice neat holes and no need to keep masses of pressure on to get them to go through. The self drive takes the effort out, frequently drill out full houses with 1 of each 25mm and 32mm

Very good bits very sharpthey seem to pull through timber too just be careful they don't snagg as it can bend the daft or snap

They will tear through whatever you put them too just be careful as I didn’t expect it and t snagged

Great bits of kit using mine constantly at the minute on new builds blasting through joists and noggins with ease, not a bad price to replace when blunt either

Use these daily there a great bit of kit I till I hit a nail witch is its death. Don't last that long in the electrical trade but great when there new. Still at a good price so not to worried there. These do have a solid shaft and not seen one snap yet unlike some others out there.

As other reviews state, these are the best wood bits on the market. I won't buy anything else. Not the cheapest but save you loads of money on the speed with which they cut and their longevity. Just avoid those pesky nails!

Brilliant bits, don't seem to lose their edge as quickly as the standard bits. Not let me down yet. Flys through joist after joist no issues.

Excellent flat bit for speedy use threaded centre aids cutting but wouldn't recommend for use with lower torque settings as it will jam

These bits are great, stick one in my impact driver and it glides through. Makes first fixing new houses a lot quicker for pipework

These drill bits are savage. Pop in the impact and it rips through the wood in no time.best spade bits I have ever bought and the price is good, I picked up a nice little set from screwfix last month. Nearly cried when I hit a nail using the 32mm last week but its still going strong
