Rip off company please be aware of it. they charge you to become like a trade person and than you buy dead leads.
If you don't want lose your money, please go away from them

Absolute rip off of a firm that use and abuse trades men pay on average around £100 per lead, bought 4 managed to speak to one person which was just a dreamer. No chance of getting a penny back no humans work here, complete con, disgusting

This is the worst platform to use if you have a business, not only is the customer service absolutely useless, but you also simply cannot get through to them no matter how serious the issue is. They advertise jobs who have already been taken which means you end up spending money on a lead for no reason. WHAT A WASTE OF A PLATFORM! scamming people for their money when they just want to work.

The worst company I have ever meet. Stay away. There is plenty of other choices. They just stilling money from the people who want to do some work.

Applied for 10 jobs 25-40£ each and got nothing in return end ends and time wasters

12 month contract 42£ per month can't cancel was asked to pay 360£ to get out

They offer a way for you to dispute the jobs to get credit back and worst of all the credit expires month end and you loose it all

I still have a rated People account so this review is from a current customer. Customer services is poor everything has to be done by email from the app which is infuriating. Unless you complain your account credit does not roll over so its a use it or lose it which isn't advertised. I do not think they put enough in to raising their profile compared to other companies on the market.

What a waste of money can they really be serious in this day and age charging for leads that 90% of the time are a complete waste of money, leads that you buy always seem to end a dead end lead ,NOT FOR IM AFRAID

Stay well away. Not worth the paper the contract is written on. Having to buy the right to even quote for a job (and even after paying there is no guarantee) you would then obviously have to add this to your quote. I was a member for around a year. Paid out £4/500 for the right to just look at jobs. Only won 1 contract from this (worth a measly £150). To get your ratings up enough to make this worthwhile you would be working at a big loss for quite some time

My low score only reflects the last few years with them.
I started with them in around 2012 and the first 12 months they was brilliant in my opinion.
But in 2013 I was messed about with being able to sort issues with leads in the fact it was supposed to be for sole traders to get more leads instead of spending loads on advertising.
So I won’t be using them ever again

Like most self employed trades, I used this platform to build my business.
I picked and chose which jobs to bid on, meaning that I rarely missed out on work.
Having to pay for work is not ideal, but if your smart, this type of can work for you.

Used Rated People when I first started out. Over 10 years ago. The price you paid per job at the time was fixed. So it was woeth doing. Now it's down to how much the customers budget is. Which makes the cost of getting and not even winning quite high. I don't use them any more because I don't need to.

Went on Rated people when they had a promotion, the concept is appealing but more often than not your blowing money on leads that have either already gone or time waters. Spent the free credits then dropped it rapidly.

Spent a year on rated people found it very difficult to win leads as by the time I received the notification the lead had already been snapped up the prices for the leads are to high especially if the customer has no idea what it will cost

been on rated for a number of years, I use it to fill in occasional gaps. The prices now are very high but I have good ratings and tend to get the jobs I go for. These people usually become lifelong customers so although the initial outlay seems high I do ok out of it. like most I have bought leads and wasted my time on people that are not serious about getting the work done. I’ve even turned up to find they don’t own the house and you’ve actually turned up to meet them and the estate agent to basically give them a free mini survey of a house they might buy
It’s incredibly difficult to get a refund . But I spend nothing else at all on advertising so I have a figure I can spend and take the rough with the smooth.

When it first came out i used it for many leads that converted to jobs, and still deal with some of those customers directly. Now however I still see the jobs come up on the app, but the lead referral prices are too high in regard to the jobs, and some company always buys the first lead automatically i presume as soon as its released, so they are either very very busy, or very very skint!

Very poor service should be Investigated by the fruid squad refund process stinks not sure if some of the leads are genuine and some customers are fucking time wasters this company needs educating on helping trades not punishing then

Extremely expensive to use and you have to buy the lead before contacting the customer so sometimes the customer won’t even respond and you have already paid out. The monthly subscription is very high as well. Customers on there have unrealistic low budgets for work. Shame as it could be s good site to use.

got offered a trial after they initially said they were in dire need of plumbers in my area. typical sales pitch they were loaded with people for the area and the few jobs were expensive to go for and the 9/10 customers were just out for time wasting or fake jobs. avoid them totally not worth the fees they want to charge and the jobs are not worth the time bidding for

Every lead I have ever received has been very poor. Unless you are immediately available and the cheapest, i doubt anyone would get any work from these.

Total waste of a years money. Constantly getting No answer and refunds. Tried and failed many times to get my money back but talking to a brick wall. Managers didn't have the courage to speak to me.

Only good for picking up a random time filling job. So many time wasters in there and most people can’t even spell or put a half decent description of the required work

Very expensive and as the customers choose their own price for the job the price you pay wildly varies although slightly better than that my builder that’s why I’ve given it to start with value for money stay well clear

The leads are expensive.quite often it’s just customers thinking about getting work done and fishing for quotes .
A couple of the leads couldn’t even get a response from rated people couldn’t have cared less

Rated people on the surface looks like a high quality secure platform for the general public to use but like others have said that for the trades person it’s a total waste of money. Paying £10.00 for a lead for a £50.00 job which there is no guaranteed that you will get the work

Total waste of money. They are over priced on there leads how can I pay £8-12 for a £50 lead by the time I’ve paid my Materials, fuel, VAT, tax etc I may as well just give my money away

Product quality: It's good for what it is, some jobs can turn into good ones, some not so good, the product range is impressive though and their app

Seems to be full of people who just want to know what their dreams will cost. Never mind the fact that we have to pay for the lead. They get quotes for nothing so it’s no bother to them

When I first started out I used rated people to help get me going. I did get some alright jobs from it but generally found it was people wanting things done for nothing and not much flexibility on start dates. Fine if your sat at home with no work and don't mind working for peanuts.

Rated people are thieves. Trades people beware. They take your money and refuse refunds. The leads are fake! Dont bother. You will never see your money again, much better companies to work with out there.

100% waste of my time - kept calling me to set up a free trial so I gave in and said sure set me up got £100 credit given to me - set myself up on the app and a few leads come in but at £10 a lead for a job that I would charge around £60 I didn’t even bother with them - so I waited and then 2 boiler jobs come at about £30 each so I went for them with the free credit- didn’t even get to talk to the customers one gave the wrong number and the other was a tenant that just wanted a quote to pass on to her landlord, waste of time and effort , why would people pay for leads like that!!!!

We were with Rated People for a long time. Eventually it was not worth our while to carry on using this site as it was too pricey for the return. Felt like there were fake job posts and disputes are not dealt with. Will not be using again.

Everybody wants work doing for next to nothing

Poor customer service, Poor leads, mainly time wasters wanting things doing for nothing or trying to find out how you would do the job so they could do it, STAY CLEAR

Just felt ripped off with the prices of unrealistic leads and when explaining this to a Rated People rep got told “yeah we are expensive and that’s that” that was my last dealing with them over 3 years ago as found much better marketing tools since.

Used to use Rated People but soon found out that the leads weren't realistic or properly vetted. Spent a lot of time and money on this service without any realistic return

They generate a hell of a lot of leads, but they are not realistic at all. The consumer is led to believe that they can dictate price to a tradesman, This is not the way forward.

This product is a race to the bottom expensive for no guarantees and no backup for the trades .I would not recommend this site to anyone

steer clear in my experience. pay for leads and customers rarely answer or get back in touch.

Very poor lead generated site , i can’t remember ever getting s successful lead, so never bothered again, stay away it’s not worth it. They are just after your money.

Rated people, I’m on this sometimes the leads can be really good and worth it. But you do need to be careful if you reject a lead and it’s a low price sometimes the lead can be templates and cost you double to buy so bit of a catch 22. Other than that good app and ideal to fill in work

From my experience the leads are exspensive and overpriced and often lead to nothing you can spend a lot of time quoting for these leads and a lot of the clients are after the lowest price possible not quality of workmanship it’s a bit of a race to the bottom.

Leads are to expensive and are not exclusive, if a lead on Rated People is £10 it will be £3 on my builder
So up to 10 People could pay for lead

I have taken a looking into rated people in the past. The leads provided are generally priced unreasonably low. Possibly down to the expectations of the customer, however beating in mind we have to pay for the lead, not secured work, perhaps they should be doing something to make these more realistic for the work required.

Another company just out there to try and make money. Rope you in to a 12 month contract then took the money out my account 4 days in a row then wondered why I went to the bank to stop them taking funds. Now to dept colector then court don’t trust them.

seems like a massive waste of time, I'm sure some of the so called leads are faked then when you try to contact for your money back it wastes more time than the jobs worth

I use this to fill diary for quiet periods, Easy enough to use, Although struggle to get them to add extra categories, They are not giving homeowners realistic price ranges, I use Bark too and they give clients a price range so they are aware, instead of asking homeowners to choose a budget that is NOT realistic with industry standard prices, Ive found customer services very helpful, but only up to when trying to put a claim in for an invalid enquiry, Thats when they become very difficult to deal with.

Used these as gap fillers when starting out. Customers rarely responded to calls or emails. Meaning a total loss to myself. Reported this to Customer service to be told nothing they could do it, some you win, some you lose. Not worth the hassle. Spend the monthly fee on marketing.

I used these as a customer when needing other trades to assist in property refurbs. Found useful for finding motivated available trades persons but just have to be careful on who you select...

I’ve used rated for abit have found the lead prices have increased so a landlord wanting to get Gas certification doesn’t want to pay to much so when the lead as I’ve seen about £24 where can anybody make money also I’ve had leads fail as cust having job done so advised about to get refund on the lead and refused as I didn’t take at the monthly subscription

I used rated people when I first relocate back up north , it served a purpose until I was established , I can say what it is like now but it worked ok for me , for what I needed

Just started with these guys and they are good as long as you keep on top of the contact with customer

Found that i didn't win one job I went for as people were going in so cheap it made it impossible to compete

Used rated people when work was slow during take off the staff were freindly and leads were strong and value for money was there once I signed up for a subscription.

Similar to my builder, most the leads you pay for and don't get or compete with Billy Bob and his £50 a day rate.

Used for a few months, alot of chancers on there testing the water and fishing. Has improved as if you cant contact the customer you can appeal to get your money back

Absolutely terrible, race to the bottom. All these lead selling sites are the same, worst possible customers. Just want the cheapest option. Avoid!

Absolutely dire, was a member some years ago, potential customers have little or no idea of reasonable costs for their projects, lead prices are a joke ; it's bottom of the barrel, avoid.

Customers seem to have unrealistic ideas of prices and some don't even allow you to quote. You should Be able to claim your lead back but this isn't always the case. Poor customer service for tradesmen

This is a complete waste of money, if your letting the customer price up a job then what chance do you have of earning a fair wage as every customer on there feels your prices are to high, this site is good if you like wasting hard earned money

Company I used to work for used Rated People for a while. Found it to be a complete waste of money and prices paid for leads to be unrealistic based on customers expectations of what jobs should cost

I use rated people when I first started on my own. Lead prices have got a bit pricey but I left them because they don't seem to vet their tradesman leaving you to compete against a much cheaper cowboy.
Rated people is not for the professional in my opinion

This is good for filling gaps but is so expensive. If the lead is a blow out they don't like refunding. Very frustrating dealing with them. I would also like to know who else has bought the lead for even playing field.

Why would we as professional trades people pay to have customers details. It should be the other way around we are SKILLED PEOPLE. Their prices are way too high & have to pay a monthly membership fee.

Got offered a sign up incentive last year.
Took the offer as a gap filler for work and have done fairly well out of it. Only lost 1 out of about 6 purchased and the rest have led to further work, some large domestic jobs aswell.

Find it very helpful for filling up little gaps and great for if you are just starting a business. People have problems paying for leads but that small amount can often open up to more work in the future and good recomendations.

Havnt used said company for any work as I've seen no good reports about it andnquite frankly has put me off completely

Every lead I got was a total waste of time and well over priced. Claim they refund bad leads but far from it

If I could give a minus review I would. Absolutely ridiculous budgets from homeowners on here since when did customers start telling tradesmen how much a job should cost.

Constantly used to phone up giving it the hard sell, in the end just blocked there number. May work for some but from how it was explained poor business model, expensive and the constant call and hard sell done my head in

This company is generally designed for them to make pots of money of of hard working trades. With little effort from them. Selling leads to three tradesman, having three bites at the cherry. The last two buying the lead are wasting their time in my experience.

I don't like anything about the business. They constantly pester you, you pay a monthly fee and then have to pay for leads and contact the customer yourself which to me seems backwards

Absolute rubbish site. Only used it when it first came out with 5free leads I was given. All were a total waste of time. Customers didn't have a clue what they really wanted or the jobs were people wanting it doing for nothing

They now charge you silly extortionate price for lead or if your a paying annual member the lead price reduces significantly In their eyes. Wouldn't waste your time paying it.

Build your own customer base by doing good honest quality work at a fair price and then you don't need to pay these fools as your customers will come back in future and recommend you.

I asked to be totally removed from it years ago and that was hard work too. And still receive crap emails saying they have loads of work available.

I've been with rated people since 2006 send me loads of work got great reviews from all my clients I think it's a brilliant product never had a problem with them

Probably the worst lead site IMO overpriced leads for timewasters and undercut by people working for peanuts

I get 80% of my work from rated people getting started was hard but now I have over 20 5star reviews many customers have chosen me before I even get there to quote. Found my builder to be too difficult to launch due to the unlimited number of people who can show interest in leads. Rated people only allows 3 so you have a very good chance when you go for one. Only draw back is the huge cost all tax deductible but you need to spend it to claim it...

I'd give it no stars if I could. Check the small print.
